This morning I took Daniel in to the ENT to see about getting tubes. After hearing about the number of ear infections he has had over the past 8 months, the doctor said that he would be a good candidate for the tubes. He then checked out his ears to see how they were looking now. The left ear was of course fine, and he just looked for a second in the right ear and said, "This one burst." So apparently his ear drum burst with his last ear infection. He said that the hole had healed already and it wouldn't cause problems, which is always a good thing. Daniel is now scheduled to have tubes put in his ears on the 5th of November. Hopefully that will help reduce the number of ear infections, or at least help so he won't have too many problems because of them.
Alex's speech therapy was basically across the street from the ENT office and we had a few extra minutes, so I made a couple of calls from the van before we headed over. The first was to tell Bryce about how Daniel's appointment went and to tell him about a voicemail I got while I was in the office. The second was returning the call to the person who left me the voicemail. It was the receptionist at my dentist's office saying that my crown came in early and if we wanted, we could schedule my appointment for earlier in the week. It worked out really well to schedule it for Monday evening, even though it's Bryce's birthday then, so I did reschedule. I figured it would be one less time I'd have to make Katie tend my kids for me, and hopefully I'll get the tooth finished a few days sooner than I would have. The appointment on Monday will be the 9th time I've been to a dentist for this particular tooth. Yep that's right, I'll have gone nine times. (Yes, I picture that in Mr. Rooney's voice..."Nine times.") Knowing my luck, the crown won't fit and so I'll have to make it an even 10. I'm really hoping that won't be the case though. And Bryce's suits that were supposed to be ready on Monday are already ready, so he can go pick those up early too. Bonus.
Since I had Daniel with me, Alex had to go back to do his speech therapy session by himself today. His therapist Trisha told me that he did really well on his l's today, in every position. He did refuse to talk again when she did the g's. So today he didn't get a sticker. That was the first thing he told me. "I didn't even get a sticker today." Poor kid.

At least he got over the sticker fast, right? Or did he just not complain about it to me?
You know how excited Si gets for his cousins to come play, he gets very upset with me if he decides it's a day they should be here and they aren't. I am happy for you that you could be done a bit early!
Hope this afternoon goes smoothly and that your weekend is relaxing!
Russ needs to go to the dentist. I told him how you've gone a lot for the one tooth. Told him he should just get his pulled. :)
Poor Daniel. Although I find it kind of funny that he will have that done on Sue's birthday.
Yeah, I get to celebrate her birthday by spending part of the day at the hospital. Woo woo.
What does this entail? outpatient..in the office? Poor Daniel but at least maybe not poor Daniel with an earache all winter.
Just so any other people reading are curious, it's an outpatient procedure at the hospital. Small hospital, but at least it's not at Mercy, which has a reputation like Lakeview.
